#SavingHerselfSeptember: Empowering Survivors and Fostering Change
Introduction:
Welcome to our #SavingHerselfSeptember campaign, which Aqua Terra Cultural Resource Consultants (ATCRC) proudly initiated.
We support domestic abuse advocacy and bring a unique perspective as a Women's Business Enterprise (WBE) and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) certified firm. While our work may appear distinct from domestic abuse advocacy, we believe it's rooted in shared values of empowerment, resilience, and preserving past and present stories.
The Connection:
Archaeology, a core facet of our cultural resource management, offers a unique perspective into the lives of past cultures. It goes beyond uncovering artifacts and landscapes; it reveals individuals' experiences and challenges, especially women, whose resilient narratives and human rights have often been overlooked or silenced.
Annual Charitable Donation of 21% of the Billings in the First 21 Days of September:
We embark on a meaningful journey during the initial 21 days of September. The significance of "21" isn't lost on us; it's often said that it takes 21 days to change a habit and 21 days to change a life. We dedicate these days to raising awareness, fostering empathy, and supporting survivors of domestic abuse, working to heal generational trauma, often rooted in addictions and its perpetuation throughout family lineages. It's a month of hope, healing, and empowerment. ATCRC's commitment to this cause involves donating 21% of the billings that go out during these first 21 days of September to our Thurston and Mason County domestic abuse shelters. This commitment signifies our dedication to empowering survivors, amplifying their voices, and providing tangible support for organizations on the front lines of domestic abuse advocacy, whether it be emotional, mental, financial, or physical.
Empowering Survivors:
Just as we painstakingly excavate and protect the treasures of our cultural heritage, we are equally committed to unearthing and preserving the potential and dignity of survivors, regardless of their gender. By extending our support to organizations that empower individuals in times of crisis, we aim to make a lasting community impact in the present and ensure that their stories, akin to the historical narratives we uncover, are acknowledged.
